In the first round of the K&H Women’s Handball League, Győri Audi ETO KC welcomed the team of Moyra-Budaörs in Audi Aréna Győr. Our team controlled the game right from the start, after 30 minutes of play we led by seven goals. In the second half there was also no question regarding the two points, ultimately the match ended in a nine-goal victory.
Before the game the club’s President, Görbicz Anita congratulated our former player Hornyák Ágnes, who celebrated her birthday on this day.
Ambros Martín sent the squad of Schatzl, Kristiansen, Nze Minko, Broch, Ryu, Győri-Lukács and Solberg in the goal to start the game. The first home goal of the 2022/2023 season was scored by Ryu Eun Hee, with two more Győr goals in quick succession. Budaörs responded after four minutes (3 – 1). In the 8th minute our lead was five goals (6 – 1), so the visitor’s head coach Buday Dániel called for a timeout. We confidently held the advantage following the timeout, after 15 minutes of play the score was 11 – 4. Turning onto the last ten minutes of the first half Győr was leading by eight goals (14 – 6), keeping a seven-goal margin for the break (18 – 11).

For the last ten minutes of the game the fans could see a seven-goal difference playing out (28 – 21). Both teams made more mistakes in the closing minutes, however nothing could stop our side from a confident victory.
Ambros Martín: „We showed a very high level of defence in the first quarter. In the second half we became nervous, our solutions didn’t come as expected. On the whole I am satisfied, because the first 15 minutes were fantastic. Thanks to the Budaörs team for the game.”
Yvette Broch: „We started the match at a high level in the first quarter, we could score fast goals thanks to our superb defence. In the second half we lost some of our concentration, this is what we have to improve on for the next match.”
