For the next match of the group stage of the DELO EHF Champions League – the meeting which was postponed from the 9th round – Győri Audi ETO KC will travel to Sweden. The match against Sävehof will start on Sunday 13 February 2022 at 16:00 and will be broadcast live on Sport1. We talked with our head coach Ambros Martín before the match.
The two sides met in the sixth round of this year's competition, with Győri Audi ETO KC claiming a historic victory, as Sävehof has not yet suffered such a defeat in a Champions League match in the history of the club (41 - 19). Our team's march has been unbroken since, and this weekend, if they beat the Swedish side, they will celebrate their 70th unbeaten game in the international series.
Sävehof are currently in the 7th place in Group B with 6 points, 3 wins and 9 defeats. Since we last met, they have played six games and have won only once, to 29 - 26 against Kastamonu in Turkey. In the seventh round, they lost to 28 - 31 at home to Metz and in France in round 8, to 35 - 21. In the ninth and tenth rounds, Sävehof also played at home, first losing to Vipers to 42 - 23 and then to 32 - 23. In the last round, they lost to 37 - 24 at home to Odense.
