Another arrival has been confirmed in the roster of Győri Audi ETO KC for the 2022/23 season. Our team has signed a two-year contract with the Danish national team's back, Line Haugsted, who will arrive from Viborg in the summer.
Another negotiation has been concluded and a new arrival has been confirmed for the 2022/23 season. Our club has signed a two-year contract with the member of the Danish national team, Line Haugsted, who is currently a key player for Viborg.
"Line Haugsted is currently one of the best defenders in the world. In view of the high level objectives of the club, as a manager - with more information - I have to prepare responsible decisions for the Board and make decisions together. It is not a coincidence that we personally participate in the prestigious, major world events. These occasions provide a good opportunity to meet managers and players. This was the case in December 2021. At the World Cup in Spain, I was very impressed by the play of Line, who is not only a great defender but also a counter-attacking player. With head coach Ambors Martín, we feel that the player is an absolute fit for the club's playing structure. I am delighted that she will definitely be strengthening Győri Audi ETO KC until 2024. We are looking forward to seeing her in Győr, but in the meantime we wish her good luck in Viborg." - said President Dr. Csaba Bartha.
"I am very happy to be part of the best team in the world from this summer. I feel very comfortable in Viborg, but I think that now is the time for me to try myself in a new country and with a new team. I had several inquiries, but I couldn't say no to the opportunity to play for Győri Audi ETO KC. I know the team, I know their results, I can fully identify with the philosophy and goals of the club. But that's still in the future, now I'm fully focused on doing as well as possible with Viborg in the Danish league and the Europa League." - said Line Haugsted.
Line Haugsted has been a Viborg player since 2016 and has only played for Danish clubs Midtjylland, Skive and Odense in his career so far. The 27-year-old shot-stopper won a bronze medal as a member of the Danish national team at the World Championships in Spain in December 2021.
