Győri Audi ETO KC has agreed on a contract extension with another player. Our team's goalkeeper Silje Solberg will stay in Győr until the summer of 2024.
Another player from Győr has committed herself to our team for the long term. Silje Solberg has signed a three-year contract in the summer of 2020, but the club management has already offered her a one-year extension to her contract, which would have expired in 2023. The Norwegian goalkeeper accepted the offer and will continue her career in the green and white until the summer of 2024.
"Silje Solberg arrived to Győr in July 2020 and I can safely say that she has grown into one of the best goalkeepers in the world over the past few years. Her approach to her work is an example for everyone. There was no question from the board about her continuation, I am very happy that she accepted the club's offer, so the excellent goalkeeper will certainly strengthen our team until June 2024. I think this is an extremely important announcement and a great achievement for women's handball. I am very happy and proud that we have managed to keep such a world-class player." - said President Dr. Csaba Bartha.
"I am very pleased that the club management has already offered me the possibility of an extension. I was happy to say yes, as I feel very comfortable in Győr and with the team. The club has everything it takes to work at a high level. I can be a member of a TEAM with a capital letter that is truly destined for great things. There is a huge motivation in everyone to achieve our common goals. This season has shown me that I am in the right place, I am looking forward to seeing all the work that the team and the club are doing together pay off. The stability that characterises Győri Audi ETO KC was one of the keys to my contract extension. I have high expectations for this and the next seasons, I want to win as many titles as possible with the team." - said Silje Solberg.
The Norwegian player is playing for Győri Audi ETO KC since 1 July 2020. To date, she has defended the goal through 65 matches for our club, scoring a total of 4 goals in these matches. She has played 32 matches in the Hungarian league, 30 in the Champions League and 3 in the Hungarian Cup.
We congratulate Silje Solberg on her contract extension!
