The team of Győri Audi ETO KC has joined the Győr Athletics Club's Rowing Department's appeal, the "Row 750 meters for the Győr record" initiative! Our club president Dr. Csaba Bartha, our sports director Anita Görbicz and the head coach of the adult team Ambros Martín also "got involved".
To celebrate Győr's 750th birthday, the GYAC Rowing Department launched the record attempt. The initiative, which started on 30 November, was attended by our club's junior players in the Olympic Sports Park. On Tuesday, several members of our academy team "pulled" the 750 metres, thus contributing to the success of the record attempt. Today, alongside Mayor András Dézsi Csaba, the President of Győri Audi ETO KC, Dr. Csaba Bartha, the Sports Director Anita Görbicz and the head coach of the adult team, Ambros Martín, also took part in the undertaking.
"When we heard about the record attempt, it was only natural that one of the most successful sports clubs in the city should support the initiative. Our academy athletes had already covered the 750m distance in the previous days, and now it was our turn. We wanted to contribute to setting a Guinness record. I encourage everyone who can to come to the Olympic Sports Park and join this great initiative." - said Dr. Csaba Bartha.
Anyone can take part in the record attempt from 30 November to 4 December. Eighty ergometers will be available in the Olympic Sports Park every day between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for enterprising volunteers to complete 750 metres on the sports equipment to mark the 750th anniversary of Győr's city status.
