The Győri Audi ETO KC is preparing with six new players in the squad for the 2021/2022 season.
We are launching a series to get know our new players. In the final part of the series, we have been talking with Linn Blomm, who has been strengthening our team since the 2021/2022 season.
Congratulations on your Olympic performance! How do you rate the fourth place?
Thank you! It was hard to accept at first, but now I can be happy about it. Of course, we wanted to come home with a medal, but the fourth place is also good.
You came to Győr from Nagybánya, but tell me a little bit about yourself! Where did you play, what should we know about you?
I started playing in Stockholm, Sweden, and then I also played for a Swedish club, IK Savehof. After that, I played in Denmark, then in Romania, and now in Hungary. I’m very happy to be here. I've a son with me, who I raise alone. I'm deaf to my left ear, which is a challenge for me, but I'm used to it.
After a few days of training in Győr, the NEKA training camp is now taking place. How were the first days? Did you get to know Győr a little? Do you like the city?
I'm having a great time here. Everyone, the girls and the club, they greet me very well.. I already feel like at home in Győr, even though I've only been here a week. I'm having a really good time.
How did your teammates greet you? Who were you looking for to work with?
They were very welcoming. I am a new player who has joined later, as the girls have already started working out together. However, I already feel like I'm one of them. We're a real team. The girls are really nice, some of them I've played with before, it was nice to meet them again. I'm so happy to be here.
You know Crina well as an opponent, you played against Kari several times. It's a fantastic trio. What do you think?
We're a very strong trio. We represent three different styles, all three of us have played in the international cup at a high level. I think it's going to be exciting and even fun. I'm really looking forward to this challange is getting started. Playing with the girsl. this is the challange I look forwrad to.
Ambros's handball philosophy is decisive. How fit is this tough defensive game for you?
I like that kind of style of play, strength defence means a lot to me, I'm really looking forward to being there and showing that I'm a strong defensive player.
How did you feel about signing your contract in Győr? What does it mean to you to be part of the ETO’s family?
This is a great opportunity for me and a big step forward in my career. I think this is the team with the best chance of winning everything in the world. Of course, as a player, you want to win everything, you want to be at the top, you want to collect trophies. I was very happy to get here and hope that together, as a team, we will achieve our goals.
What are your personal goals at the club? What do you want to achieve by the end of the season?
My personal goal is to be even better, I believe everyone is a star in their position right now and we have a very good team. Every situation is a big challenge and I look forward to training with such good players and being better through them. Of course, I came here to win the HUngarian League, the Hungarian Cup and to reach the FINAL4 in the Champions League and, while we are there, let's win it!
What do you say to the fans?
I promise I’ll do my best. I really like this atmosphere that's in the ETO, I've played as an opponent, so I know what it's like. I'm really looking forward to seeing what it's like to have them with me, not against me.
