Tamás Szabó, the international director of Győri Audi ETO KC, has been representing our team for several years in the women's handball club advocacy organization, the Women Forum Club Handball’s board(WFCH). During the renewal of the organisation at the end of May, the membership elected the representative of our club as president of WFCH.
The Women Forum Club Handball was established in 2014. The members of the organization are the clubs from the international handball series (Champions League, EHF EL, EHF Cup). Naturally, among the founding clubs of the organisation was the Győri Audi ETO KC team. The main goal of the WFCH is to represent the interests of the clubs within the European Handball Federation and the International Handball Federation, and the members are also taking part on the relevant committees of the EHF. At the end of May 2021, the annual general meeting organised on Budapest on the occasion of the DELO EHF FINAL4, where the regular renewal was scheduled. The international director of our club applied for the position of president of the organization, and the General Assembly decided by secret voting that Tamás Szabó should continue to lead the Women Forum Club Handball as president.
"It is a great honor to have been assured of the support of the membership and they elected me for president! As I was in a "bubble" with the team because of FINAL4, unfortunately I was not able to be present at the General Assembly in person, but I feel that success is even more valuable. Firstly, I thank the leadership of Győri Audi ETO KC, President Dr. Csaba Bartha, for supporting my ambitions. Secondly, of course, I appreciate the support of the clubs, I try to pay back their trust with my work. We are going to have an exciting, challenging time, where there will be many opportunities to represent the interests of the club. Thanks to the work of previous years, WFCH now has weight, a significant organization that cannot be bypassed in international handball! I would like to strengthen the authority of the organization under my leadership and my goal is to further increase the number of participating clubs," said Tamás Szabó.
Tamás Szabó has been involved in the life of the organization since its founding as a representative of the Győri Audi ETO KC. He became a member of the WFCH Board in December 2017 and has been the head of the Women's Club Board since January 2019 on the Committee on EHF Marketing (WCB). Following the General Assembly at the end of May 2021, the necessary documents were signed on 24 June in Cologne, Germany. Tamás Szabó was elected for president for 4 years. We congratulate our international director and wish him every success and good work on his new mandate.
