Gabor Danyi no longer the head coach of Győri Audi ETO KC. He was released from work after the match against Ferencváros. A commissioned coach will be in charge of the national league match against Debrecen.
Following the 31-22 defeat from Ferencváros, Győri Audi ETO KC’s fate is no longer in its own hands in the K&H Women's Handball League in the fight for the gold medal. According to the defeat, the management of Győri Audi ETO KC evaluated the match and relieved Gabor Danyi of his duties as head coach with effect from 7 May 2021.
"The least I have to do after the game against Ferencváros is to apologize for the performance of our team. Our fans, who have consistently encouraged and followed us through the most difficult period of the epidemic, didn’t deserve this in one of the most important matches of the year. Of course, as the manager of the club, I must not only do my part in times of success, but also share and draw the right conclusions from failure. We regretted the decision to release head coach Gabor Danyi from work today and terminate his employment contract. I entrust Anita Görbicz, Attila Kun and Zoltán Holanek with the team's preparations for the match against Debrecen. Now is the time to really come together, thus I ask our supporters to show our strength now, also in the home match against the DVSC and in the remaining matches of the year. Let’s show that we can defend our titles in both the Hungarian Cup and the Champions League. Together, in common, we will succeed! Go ETO” said president dr. Csaba Bartha
The team has serious tasks to do. Five matches still have to be played in the league, the Hungarian Cup semi-final against Ferencváros, while in the Champions League final four, Brest Brittany awaits the green and whites.
Our club thanks Gábor Danyi for his work so far and we wish him every success in the future.
