Despite her young age, she is one of the top players of the Danish national team. By the way, she is celebrating her 23rd birthday. She first played in the adult national team in 2013 which earned the bronze medal that year at the World Championship in Serbia. She is a very determined, motivated and lovely person, who is looking forward to the season, which is a new chapter in her handball career.
1. How old were you when you started to get familiar with the basics of handball.
I was 10 when I changed to handball, before that I had been a gymnast. My friends chose handball, and my mom also played handball, so I thought I would try it. I don’t regret it.
2. What attracted you in this game?
Of course the team spirit. It is important to work as a team in handball, we have to fight for one another, this is the only way to get farther. The other advantage is that you can make a lot of friends.
3. How do you like your new home? Have you got familiar with the city?
I really got to like Győr in these few weeks. It’s a beautiful city, with lovely places. Everything is in walking distance, so you don’t get lost. I haven’t been on a city tour yet, but it will surely come.
4. You spent the training camp with the team abroad, how did you feel, how were the trainings?
I felt really good, we had really hard trainings in this one week. The preparation is similar in Denmark too, what I see the difference is the intensity of the running trainings. We used a different approach, so I have to get used to this one.
5. How did your team mates react? Had you known somebody before you came?
I played against some of them before, but I didn’t know them personally. After my arrival I spent most of my time with Anja and Stine as all of us were new comers. We tried to explore the place because we live close to one another. The team is composed of excellent players I’m trying to learn from everybody as much as I can.
6. What are your strength?
I am diligent, I always try my limits and to be better. Every condition is given in Győr, I’m in the best place to improve.
7. Do you have a hobby?
I really like the series, my present favourtie is the Vampire Diaries. Moreover, I’ve realized that in Hungary it is two seasons later than in Denmark, needless to say, I thought that this was going to be a great place. (she laughs)
8. What are your goals for the season at personal and team level?
I would like to be one of the top players of the team and find my place where I can contribute to our success the most. I’m gonna work hard and try to do my best on the court and live with the opportunities. At team level, I would like to win everything that we can as we are talking about the best team of the world where I’m very happy to play. After Győr’s last year performance, I feel that we have even more difficult tasks in front of us, but I have no doubt about us doing our best.
9. How did you like the fans?
They are fantastic. I can’t wait the first match of the season to step on the court in front of this unbelievable fan group. I’m excited but I’m looking forward to it.
Welcome to the team, Anne, good luck in the season.
