The newly elected president of the club, dr Bartha Csaba welcomed the visitors at the press conference held in the Audi Hungaria Forum. The president said the team was rightfully expected to perform well. “ Our goal is to defend the Champions title in the Championship and the first place in the Hungarian Cup and to get into the FINAL4 in the Champions League. Considering the last 5 years, these expectations are not surreal. From the management side, we are going to do everything to reach these goals and to support the team.
On behalf of the main sponsor of the team, the Government of Municipality of Győr, dr Csörgits Lajos vice notary, ensured the team about their support and said that the handball team is extremely important: “ETO is one of the most important projects of Győr, and thanks to the team, Győr has an excellent position on the sport map of the world. ETO makes thousands of people happy, we are hoping that this won’t change this year.”
Representing the host Audi Hungaria Motor Kft, Lőre Péter, the Head of Communication and Governmental Relations, made his comments putting the 10-year sponsorship in the center. “We’ve been successful so far, and we are going to be successful after this. We have big plans with the team and we are going to reach them with team effort, I hope. The result of this partnership is that we can start the new season with the highest goals.”
Ambros Martin, head coach, evaluated the preparation for the new season and said that despite the team not being complete, the team could do everything they had planned. However, the Hungarian Championship without play-offs required some changes in the preparation: “This year, the first match is as important as the rest, from this year the emphasis is not on the final of the Championship. I would like the team to reach better results than their own individual best, since last year, we were the best team, but this was missing to collect every title.”
Görbicz Anita, the captain of ETO said that however they had more rest this year, they would rather have been to the Olympics too. According to her, the team is in a good condition, because: “There was no big changes in players this year, practically only Nora Mörk came. We are ready and hungry for victory. On behalf of the team, I can safely say that we are going to do everything to take every cup.”
Nora Mörk, sympathetically greeted the visitors in Hungarian. The new player got contracted for 3 years. The professional Norwegian player feels great and she is looking forward to the beginning of the season. “I am looking forward to step on the court in the Audi Arena in front of the incredible fans. We are in outstandingly good condition, I am very excited about the season. I came to Győr to be a part of a winning team, I would like to get every title with the team.”
