The title bout is coming on Sunday, where Podgorica is preparing for a return game for the defeat suffered in January in Győr. However, we are going to be there too, the girls are preparing for the match with great energy.
We have the same number of points with Podgorica and ranked first in the group, but because of their goal rate, Montenegro has an advantage. They lost one point in the group matches against Bucharest, and Győr has also taken two points from them since then. Despite these, they won all of their matches confidently: they won against Midtjylland 28-18 and defeated Vardar 31-19 in Podgorica. The top scorer of the team is the ex-ETO member, Katarina Bulatovic with 55 Champions League goals followed by Christina Neagu with 53 and Dragana Cvijics , Heidi Löke’s post-mate, with 27. Their strength is the aggressive defense, which worked even when their goalkeeper, Marta Zderic was forced to leave the court with a red card due to a collision against the rules.
The girls will have one training today and tomorrow to get prepared for the match on Sunday. They also watch videos on both days to analyze the opponent in details to find the weakness of the team. The team is travelling to Podgorica on Saturday where there will be a training on location. Of course our fans are also preparing for the journey. There will be about 70 green-white supporters in Moracsa to help our team and make the arena less scarry.
